Introduction

We pay tribute to baseball historian, Bob Koehler, who granted us exclusive access to his private photographic collection of the Milwaukee Braves. All 340 images have been painstakingly restored and archived in this unique and rare edition of baseball history for your personal viewing pleasure.

You?ll find this exciting DVD photo collection of Milwaukee Braves baseball history from the rush to construct Milwaukee County Stadium in 1952-53, the World Series playoffs of 1957 and 1958, and many rare moments, behind the scenes and up close and personal reflections of the team, players, and coaches, that brought incredible thrills to millions of devoted fans around the country.

It was an amazing era when seasonal salaries topped $25,000 for Warren Spahn in 1953 and hammering Henry Aaron for only $5,000 in 1954. By 1957 salaries increased to $57,000 for Spahn and $22,500 for Aaron. What a bargain for a team heading into their first of two World Series playoffs in 1957 and 1958, winning the World Series in dramatic fashion in 1957. It was a time when loyal fans cheered for loyal players who were proud to start and end their baseball careers with the same team.

This DVD collection includes rare photographs and sneak peaks into the lives of:

Hank Aaron, Warren Spahn, Eddie Mathews, Johnny Logan, Del Crandall, Red Schoendienst, Lew Burdette, Wes Covington, Bill Bruton, Charlie White, Johnny Antonelli, Don Liddle, Paul Waner, Frank Torre, Joe Adcock, Lou Sleater, Bob Buhl, Nippy Jones, Felix Mantilla, Bob Hazel, Andy Pafko, Bob Trowbridge, Bob Shaw, Gene Conley, Ernie Johnson, Bobby Thomson, Dave Jolly, Taylor Phillips, John DeMerit, Ray Sherer, Carlton Willey, Chet Nicols, Gus Bell, Bob Roselli, Don McMahon, and many other players, and coaches from 1953 to 1965. Also includes photographs of baseball legends: Ty Cobb, Billy Martin, Jackie Robinson, Casey Stengel, Stan Musial, Joe Campanella, and Duke Snider

This collection also includes fascinating aerial shots surrounding Milwaukee County Stadium and multiple photographs of the preparation made for the Milwaukee Braves: welcoming ceremony, parades, spring training camp in Florida, and the stadium’s transformation needed to prep the field for Green Bay Packer football.

Take a sneak peak into the locker room and watch the team playing cards, relaxing before a game, or the team in uniform and flip flops waiting for the team bus because cleated shoes weren’t allowed in the hotel where they were staying.

You’ll see home cooking with Hank Aaron, Charlie White, and Wes Covington, the team warming up and practicing on the field, inside the batting cage, individual promo stills, in the dugout, and action shots on and off the field.

Faithful fans seeking autographs, special team and individual awards, luncheons, and individual member in civvies, having fun in the clubhouse, inside the dugout, outside the stadium, and even in their homes.
